Karen Buch, RDN, LDN


Karen Buch is founder and principal consultant at Nutrition Connections LLC, where she provides strategic counsel and a variety of tactical nutrition communications services to food companies, nutrition organizations, PR agencies, supermarkets, and retail dietitians nationwide. She shares her insights as a speaker at various national symposia and as a contributor to publications including Progressive Grocer magazine, Nutrition Unscrambled, RDBA Weekly and more. Karen is the coordinator and writer of reviews of foods, products, nutrition-related books, professional tools/software and kitchen gadgets for Nutrition411. In an effort to help other RDNs discover the retail career-path, Karen helped develop and co-author the Academy’s Certificate of Training program: Supermarket Business and Industry Skills to Thrive in Retail Dietetics released May 2015. In addition, she served as immediate past-chair of the Supermarket/Retail Subgroup within the Academy’s Food and Culinary Professionals DPG. As a trusted nutrition expert with more than 12 years of experience working in grocery retail, Karen continues to translate nutrition science into practical solutions for consumers by delivering credible food and nutrition advice via radio, television, print, video, blogs, and social media. Vicki Castelli, MS, RD, LDN

Vicki Castelli is the current president of the Philadelphia Dietetic Association (PDA) and director of food and Nutrition at Lower Bucks Hospital. She oversees the food safety and nutritional care aspects of the food and nutrition services department to ensure full compliance with federal, state, and other regulatory agencies. She ensures the efficiency of food prepared in the department taking into consideration food safety, nutritional adequacy, and appropriate patient nutritional care. She also participates in the development and enforcement of policies and procedures that direct clinical services, food preparation, distribution, service, purchasing, sanitation, safety practices, performance improvement, staff education, and development.

Anne Danahy, MS, RDN

Anne Danahy is a Scottsdale-based registered dietitian nutritionist with more than 20 years of experience counseling and teaching individuals and groups about wellness and disease management.   In addition to writing and editing content for Nutrition411, Anne works as a nutrition writer and reviewer for EBSCO Health, and a corporate wellness dietitian for American Express in Phoenix. Anne has a passion for cooking and creating healthier recipes, and she also provides recipe development and marketing and communication services to clients in the food and restaurant industries. She is the creator and author of the food and nutrition blog Craving Something Healthy. Her professional interests include healthy aging, weight management, diabetes prevention, cardiovascular disease, and women’s health.
Anne is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Arizona Dietetic Association, and the Nutrition Entrepreneurs and Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine dietetic practice groups.  She holds a BA degree in American studies from the University of Notre Dame, and an MS degree in food and nutrition science from Framingham State University in Massachusetts. 

Catherine Frederico, MS RD LDN

Catherine Frederico is president of Frederico Arts LLC. Her company specializes in health app development and workshops for digital health for medical professionals and consumers. Since 2010, she has been an innovator on over a dozen mobile health projects, including her award-winning game app, Food Focus: Fruits, followed by Veggie Garden Palooza. She also contributed to Breast Cancer Care, App reSolutions, Go Social, Nutrition Support Matrix, and Max’s Plate, which won honorable mention in the US Surgeon General’s 2012 Healthy App Contest. In 2013, Catherine received the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ Mary Abbott Hess Award for innovation in food and culinary education. A former professor, Catherine is an internationally recognized author, speaker, and leader in mobile health, electronic health records for private practice dietitians, consumer informatics, and educational technology. For the past three years she has been a member of the Academy’s Consumer Health Informatics Work Group, and chair the past two years. Lisa Ann Jones, MA, RDN, LDN, FAND

Lisa Ann Jones is a Philadelphia-based award-winning registered dietitian and nutrition communications consultant. Lisa has a master’s degree in nutrition education from Immaculata University and a bachelor of science in dietetics and food service from West Virginia University. She is a registered dietitian-nutritionist in the state of Pennsylvania and a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Lisa is also a member of many practice groups such as Dietitians in Business and Communications and Nutrition Entrepreneurs. Lisa is currently serving as the chair for the Academy’s Consumer Protection and Licensure Subcommittee as well as a delegate for Nutrition Entrepreneurs. She has previously held several other leadership roles including past-president of the Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She serves on the advisory board for the Pennsylvania Academy of Pediatrics. In 2014, Lisa was recognized as Outstanding Dietitian of the Year by the Pennsylvania Academy, the highest honor bestowed upon a Pennsylvania Dietitian.

Pam Kent, MS, RD, CSR, CDE, LD

Pam Kent is an Ohio-based, licensed, registered dietitian nutritionist and a certified diabetes educator (CDE). Pam holds a bachelors of science and a master of science degree in  nutrition from Case Western Reserve University and completed her internship at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. She has over 25 years of clinical and industry experience in nephrology, cardiology, and endocrinology and has developed both online and classroom curricula for undergraduate students exploring environmental and lifestyle behaviors and their influence on health. Pam is currently a patient educator coordinator for Centers for Dialysis Care where she created a smart series of patient engagement programs for kidney patients and launched the CDC Kidney Education Program. Pam has been involved with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Renal Practice Group and National Kidney Foundation serving on the editorial board and the executive committees. She is the co-chair of the Standards of Practice and Standards of Professional Performance Committee on Nephrology Nutrition, a workgroup member for the Academy Evidence Analysis for Chronic Kidney Disease, and is the Academy House of Delegates representative for the Renal Practice Group. She has authored numerous peer reviewed publications and book chapters.

Marjorie Nolan Cohn, MS, RDN, CEDRD, CSSD, ACSM-CPT

Marjorie Nolan Cohn is owner of MNC Nutrition in New York City. She specializes in eating disorder treatment, fitness nutrition, and GI disorders. She is a certified eating disorder registered dietitian, a board-certified specialist in sports dietetics, and is an American College of Sports Medicine certified personal trainer. She authored The Belly Fat Fix: Taming Ghrelin, Your Hunger Hormone, for Quick, Healthy Weight Loss (Rodale 2013) and is co-author of Overcoming Binge Eating for Dummies (For Dummies 2013). As owner of MNC Nutrition, she works with individual patients, conducts corporate wellness workshops, and is a regular speaker at local and national conferences and universities. She worked at the Renfrew Center for Eating Disorders, taught nutrition and fitness at the National Personal Training Institute, consulted at New York University’s wellness center, and is nutrition director at Metro Behavioral Health Associates, an outpatient eating disorder treatment center in the New York City area. Mary Ellen Posthauer, RD, CD, LD

Mary Ellen Posthauer is the president of MEP Healthcare Dietary Services and has consulted to long-term care facilities and hospice organizations for 35 years. She is also the past president of the Indiana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and the past chair of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics: Dietetics in Health Care Communities and Behavioral Health dietetic practice groups. She is vice-chair of the Academy’s Position Committee. Mary Ellen was a co- author of several Academy Position and Practice papers. Mary Ellen has received numerous awards including the NPUAP’s Kosiak Award, the Indiana Academy’s Honored Dietitian, and the Academy’s Medallion Award and is a member of  the School of Foods and Nutrition’s Hall of Fame at Purdue University.

Denise Andersen MS, RDN, LD, CLC (Office, 2016-2018)

Denise Andersen is a Minnesota-based licensed, registered dietitian nutritionist and a certified lactation consultant (CLC). She is currently a business consultant in private practice. She served as a dietetic preceptor and mentor to staff and students for the University of Minnesota's master’s program and with various other coordinated and distance learning internship programs across the country. Denise has a master of science degree in food science and nutrition from University of Wisconsin and a bachelor of science in dietetics from St Catherine University in St. Paul, MN, where she serves on the alumnae council and the council’s fundraising committee. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and a member of many practice groups such as Women’s Health, Dietitians in Nutrition Support, and Clinical Nutrition Management. Denise served as past chair and PAL of the WH DPG, and is the WH DPG HOD delegate. Denise is currently serving as the past-chair of the Board of Directors for the Academy’s Political Action Committee (ANDPAC). Denise will assume a new role on the Quality Management Committee of the Academy 2016-19. She is also a member of the Food Security Implementation Task Force, and a past member of the Academy Position Committee. She has previously held several other leadership roles including past-president of the Minnesota Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Twin Cities District President, a member of the Minnesota Expo committee, a member of the Minnesota district reorganization committee and was a founding member of MNSPEN, where she held several leadership roles, and presented at ASPEN three times. She received the Award of Valor from the Minnesota affiliate. Denise’s experience has been in home infusion, regional clinical nutrition management, high risk pregnant clients, neonatal nutrition, nutrition support as well as advocacy and public health.
